New Champion Greens
currently at ALL 4 City Courses!
The City of
Atlanta owns four courses, all of which are managed by
American Golf and are among the most popular courses in the
metro area. North Fulton Golf Course, located at Chastain
Park, and Bobby Jones, which is extremely convenient to
intown residents and those who work in town, are the best
known of the city courses, but Browns Mill, located on
Atlanta's south side, is very well respected for the quality
of its layout.
North Fulton GC also features an excellent layout, with
enough length to provide a reasonable challenge for lower
handicappers while remaining playable for its many players
of lesser ability. A handful of very strong par 4s and
creeks that wind through the course and impact several holes
provides much of the challenge, and makes North Fulton a
solid test from tee to green. The routing has changed a time
or two over the years, but the traditional layout has
retained its integrity.
Bobby Jones
is considerably shorter and tighter, with some imposing
trees jutting out along fairways that place an emphasis on
accuracy. The terrain is hillier than you'd expect for a
course so close to downtown, and with Nancy Creek snaking
through the course, trouble looms in a few spots along the
way. Some significantly uphill shots will make you think the
course is longer than it is, but distance is rarely a
concern on an enjoyable layout with a few different twists.
Browns Mill is a
respected layout of moderate length and difficulty,
with a little room off the tee and minimal trouble
around the sizeable greens. The terrain is on the
gentle side, with the tree lines set slightly back
from the fairways. An exception is the long and
demanding par-4 third, one of the area's stronger
holes. Browns Mill also offers a driving range.
Tup Holmes lacks length,
but the layout features narrow fairways and a lot of
elevation changes, with a number of dogleg. Accuracy
off the tee is vital beginning with the first hole,
with some creeks running through the course, which
was built on the site of a Civil War battleground.
The downhill par-3 17th is the feature hole.

Course was really good for the money you paid for it.
Exellent price value combination, greens were fairlyy
good and not too fast. Good course for golfers who do
not want to spent lots of money. Nice and close to

My favorite of the
Atlanta City courses. Its usually in better shape
than Bobby Jones and doesnt have some of the silly
holes that Fulton County does. A great deal for the
money.

Nice Course. Most holes
very open, but challenging. Many old trees and a
pleasant atmosphere. Was a little crowded, but
expected because of the price and location. Looking
forward to going back.

Found this course to be
real good shape. The people were friendly and the
afternoon was enjoyable. Got the feeling you could
find whatever game you were looking for here. I
would recommend it for a nice afternoon in Atlanta,
especially if you don't have a lot of time to
travel.

I was pleased with all of the
qualities of the tract and excited to play on a
course that was worth the price of the round. The
course was in good condition, and the quality of
customer service was above average. I enjoyed my
round!
