Directions:
Take North end perimeter loop I-285 to exit 17, Roswell Rd. Take right and follow Roswell Road 4.5 miles south. Take right onto W. Wieuca Road and proceed 1.5 miles to course on left.
 

Recommended for golfers who: Like proximity to downtown and walking

Owned by the City of Atlanta and managed by American Golf, North Fulton is one of the most convenient courses to downtown Atlanta and Buckhead, and offers some of the metro area's most affordable prices, with a traditional layouts that can easily be walked and enough challenge to keep better players interested while appealing to those of modest abilities.  

North Fulton is one of Atlanta's busiest courses, owing to its prime location at Chastain Park and the quality of its layout, which has held up over the years. At a little over 6,500 yards from the back tees, it is no longer lengthy by modern standards, but the white tees measure 6,300 yards, which is very reasonable for a par 71. While the layout hasn't changed appreciably over the years, the routing definitely has, with holes changing numbers on several occasions.

The course is relatively open off the tee, but there are enough holes where errant tee shots will be penalized to keep you honest. There are a handful of very strong par 4s, most notably the 15th, one of a several holes that require appraoch shots over a creek, and the long, uphill 18th, still among the area's most demanding finishing holes. Although none of the par 5s have much length, all three present problems for those who don't hit it straight or choose the wrong club when nearing the hazards that cross two of the fairways. A solid test tee to green and a testament to traditional layouts of a bygone era.
