Crooked Creek Golf Club Course Review

Since opening in the mid ’90s, has established a merited reputation as one of Atlanta’s finest layouts and among the best conditioned. Designed by Mike Riley, a former Jack Nicklaus and Bob Cupp associate, the tree-lined layout strikes an even balance between challenge and playability, with excellent site lines from the tees and a winning mix of holes, especially an interesting group of par 5s. The course underwent an extensive $1.3 million-dollar renovation in 2018.

With a few exceptions, the course is reasonably open off the tee, reserving much of the challenge for the greens complexes, many of which are elevated and well-bunkered and will put your short game to the test. It has become a popular tournament site for statewide and regional events, with its country-club like amenities a prime draw.

The terrain is a bit rugged in spots, but Riley’s well-crafted design is among the area’s best tests of golf, ranking near the middle in both length and overall difficulty, and accurately reflecting the quality of your play on the scorecard.

One of Atlanta’s most challenging and best conditioned courses. Tree-lined layout is first-rate and demanding, especially around the greens, which are elevated and well-bunkered and will put your short game to the test. A number of very interesting holes, especially the group of par-5s. Quietly moving up the ranks of Atlanta’s best semi-private courses.
