Legacy On Lanier Golf
The course, designed by Gary Player and Ron Kirby & Associates, hosted the LPGA World Championship in the 1980s and an annual American Junior Golf Association tournament in the ’90s, and gave the game’s top female pros and juniors plenty of challenge despite the modest yardages. The combination of scenic appeal and playability make for one of the most enjoyable rounds of golf you will play in the metro area.
The Championship Golf Course is one of the most picturesque in the Southeast. Designed by Gary Player & Associates, it has been ranked among the top five resort courses in Georgia!
Located along Lake Lanier, one of the area’s most picturesque layouts. Several of the lakeside holes are simply gorgeous, and include an over-water par 3 completely exposed to the elements; a terrific but treacherous par-4 finishing hole; and a wonderful risk/reward par 5 with a tee shot that must carry the lake.
Not especially long or difficult, provided you keep the ball in play. Quite hilly for a lakeside layout, and among the area’s tighter driving courses. Well-protected, mounded greens put a premium on precise approach shots, with recent restoration of putting surfaces returning lost slope and speed. Former site of the LPGA World Championship.
Long a favorite in the Atlanta area because of its gorgeous setting along side Lake Lanier and its distinctive layout, which includes some terrific holes along the lake and some surprising elevation changes along the way. Eight of the holes play along the lake, with the nearby Blue Ridge Mountains also providing some picturesque views.
By modern standards, PineIsle Resort is on the short side, but the rolling terrain and some of the area’s tightest fairways keep the course from being a pushover. Then there’s the lake, which is a serious factor on only a handful of holes, most notably the fifth, one of the state’s great risk/reward par 5s, with a tee shot that invites you to carry as much of the lake as you dare, and the lake lurking just off the left edge of the green.
Surrounded by sparkling Lake Lanier and nestled in the foothills of Georgia’s Blue Ridge Mountains, is Renaissance PineIsle Resort. Located just 45 minutes North of Atlanta, this is the perfect vacation getaway, with its full complement of exciting recreational activities (Horseshoes & Board Games, Heated Indoor/Outdoor Pool, Day Spa, Men’s and Ladies’ Saunas, Fully-Equipped Fitness Room, Private Boat and Fishing Dock). For conferences and business meetings, the resort offers unparalleled facilities and uncom- promising personal service. see Also
