Among Atlanta’s newer upscale daily fee layouts, the Bridgemill Athletic Cub Golf course was designed by acclaimed international architect Desmond Muirhead with an assist from Larry Mize. The rolling terrain makes the course play its length, although five well-spaced tees provide legitimate options, with the ability to pound it off the tee a vital asset on only a handful of holes.
Relatively open off the tee, but tree lines are within range if you stray. As a group, the par 4s are not overly lengthy nor demanding, with a pair of short but intriguing holes, most notably the picturesque second, with water covering the entire right side of the fairway and surrounding the left half of the green. The par 5s have some length and difficulty, and two of the par 3s are among the best around — the fairly lengthy island green 16th and the equally intimidating fifth, with the green guarded by a sizeable hill to the right and a scrub area below it to the left. .
Most of the greens are carved out of hillsides, with many featuring multiple levels making for some very testy short game shots if you miss the greens in the wrong spot. Challenging but playable layout that includes a nice mix of holes varying in length, strategic holes and difficulty.

BridgeMill offers a compelling selection of great golf holes skirting the shores of Lake Allatoona. The rolling terrain makes the course play its length, although five well-spaced tees provide wide options. Large, multi-tier greens place pressure on approach shots and the short game.
