The Hooch Golf Club Course Review

An excellent executive course that also features one of the area’s best and most expansive practice facilities. Playing to a par of 61 with seven par 4s, it is more like a regulation course than most executive layouts. There are some very solid par 4s and a few dangerous par 3s that will test the better players, but The Hooch is also a terrific layout for those new to the game

An excellent executive course that plays to a par of 61 with seven par 4s, and is more like a regulation course than most executive layouts, with a number of challenging holes from the back tees and quite a few hazards in play. “One of the Top Short Courses in American for 2006,” by Golf Range Magazine. There are some very solid par 4s that require more than a short iron approach and a few dangerous par 3s of up to 200 yards that will test the better players. The greens are comparable to those at the area’s top daily fee courses, and except for the abundance of par 3s, you’ll barely notice that it’s an executive layout. From the front set of tees, it’s a terrific venue for those new to the game, and the compact nature of the course allows you to walk and finish in far less time than regulation layouts. The practice facility is among the most expansive and busiest in all of Atlanta, with its convenient location making it a popular stop for those in Atlanta’s heavily-populated northeast suburbs.

  1. Great executive course, good value, excellent condition, the greens are spectacular. Now allowing carts off cart path

  2. Excellent value! I was looking for a “bang for the buck” course to bring out-of-town visitors who didn’t want to spend a fortune while getting in some swings on a decent, well-maintained course.

  3. I enjoy the executive style layout. It is a great place for fine-tuning your game. The practice facility is second to none.

  4. Greens are kept in excellent shape. The Hooch probably has one of the best practice facilities in Atlanta that I’ve seen. Good course if you are wanting to play a fast round and good for working on your short game, especially at their executive course.

  5. After looking at the par total for this course, I was very concerned about the course as a whole. After playing these great 18 holes, all concerns were washed away. The pin positioning was excellent not to mention the total maintenance of the course!

  6. Just the ticket for a quick 18 holes in less than 4 hours. The location is very convenient to the many folks here in North Fulton that play golf. Fun day all the way around.

  7. I enjoyed playing in this course. This is a good course for a beginner. It was short and fun. Even though Hole 10 was Par 3, I found it to be the most challenging (houses, bunker and rough).

  8. This is a great and well manicured course that may be played if you are on a restricted time budget. It has a good mixture of par 3 and 4 holes which will help improve your short game.
The driver may also be pulled out on a couple of holes. I recommend this course to anyone that wants to play a nice course in a short period of time.

  9. This is a great course to play for the beginner as well as experienced golfers in need of a quick game. it is challenging as well as fun and in great shape. I especially enjoyed the “grill” they
have at the clubhouse. Very nice touch!

  10. This is the ideal course for you to work on your game. It provides just enough challenge to make you work your shots but doesn’t dishearten you with formidable challenges. The best par 60 course you’ll find in Atlanta.

  11. Really like the intermediate length. Better be ready to stretch out your game on the back nine.
It makes for a great weekend golfers course!
